Morph (2021)
7"x 5" Prismacolor on Canson Paper
Morph was created as a fun way to reflect on skills I have gained within and outside of higher education. The intent was to morph body parts into significant objects within my life. I morphed my eye, tongue, and nostrils into my rollerskates to show the progression of my artistic skills and other involvements in extracurriculars outside of class like rollerskating. I proved my representational skills through the hyper-real rendering of the skate. I challenged myself by making it fully colored as well since the skate had a holographic graphic surface. The action of morphing them demonstrates how I’ve integrated both art and rollerskating into my daily life, they have become a part of me.
